Blender Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream--a recipe for

Blender Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream

I’ve been making this “recipe” for years. Because it has only 3 ingredients and is dairy free you might be thinking “what kind of ice cream is this?” Don’t judge it until you try it! I really think you will love. My kids and I could eat this every day all summer long.

The only thing you need to have to get started is frozen bananas. I have a big ziplock bag in my freezer that has overripe bananas in it. When I get a brown banana I’ll immediately peel it and put it in the bag. Then whenever I feel like this ice cream I can make it.

You’ll need to slice up the frozen banana into 1/2 inch chunks.Place them in your heavy duty blender. I use a BlendTec with a twister jar* to make this treat. Then sprinkle in some cocoa powder and add in the peanut butter. Blend it up until it is a creamy ice cream consistency.

Because there is no liquid in this recipe it can be hard on your blender. I’ve burned out a regular blender before trying to make thisย Blender Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream. If you are nervous about ruining your blender you may want to add a quarter cup or milk or almond milk in the bottom of the blender before adding the rest of the ingredients. The ice cream won’t be as thick but it will still taste amazing.

Made this today and it was excellent. To save on some calories, I used about 1 T. of peanut butter powder, and used about 2 T. of crunchy peanut butter. My husband gave it a thumbs up.

I love, love this recipe! Healthy, quick and satisfies my constant craving for chocolate!

I threw in a few frozen strawberries one time and yes, yes, yes, yessss!

Question: Can I freeze leftovers if I make a big batch?

cocoa powder can be found in the baking aisle. It is an unsweetened brown powder that you can use in lots of baking recipes like brownies and no bake cookies. I usually buy the hershey’s brand.
