A cozy Instant Pot dish featuring Italian sausage, tender cabbage, and savory seasonings, perfect for a quick meal.

- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch red pepper flakes
- 4 Tbsp tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Mozzarella cheese or parmesan cheese
- Cottage cheese or rice, for serving
Instructions
- Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display say HOT add in the sausage and break it up. Add in the onion. Brown for 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease.
- Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.
- Add in the cabbage, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, tomato paste, Worcestershire, basil, oregano and pepper.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up move valve to venting and remove the lid.
- Stir well. Taste test and season to taste (you may need a pinch of salt depending on your sausage).
- Scoop into bowls and serve with a side of cottage cheese or rice and sprinkle with mozzarella or parmesan cheese.
