Weather warming up? It’s time to plug in the crockpot!

Many people typically think of slow cookers as an appliance to use for winterish comfort foods like soups and heavy meals. When the weather gets warmer, the slow cooker goes in the closet until fall. In my humble opinion, this should not be the case. The #1 reason to use your slow cooker this spring and summer is that it wonโ€™t heat up your house like an oven or stovetop! You can still eat lightly and healthily as well. You can still have the convenience of the slow cooker for the busy summer days. Some of my favorites are the:
Garlic Pepper Sauce , use your fresh veggies from the garden

Hawaiian Haystacks, a new crockpot twist on an old family favorite

Chalupa, just looking at this recipe is making my mouth water

and donโ€™t forget the best ever Cafe Rio Chicken, no comment necessary on that one!

Soโ€ฆ donโ€™t forget your slow cooker is your new best friend this summer (next to the grill, of course).

Hey Karen, your Chalupa link is pointing to the Hawaiian Haystacks. And when I search for Chalupa on the blog, nothing is found. My interest is piqued. Help! And thanks!

I like to put my crock pot outside on the deck while it's cooking during the summer. Keeps the heat out of the kitchen completely!
