(Disclaimer: I received a small discount in exchange for my review of Buy Direct. However, all opinions are my own)
Remember a while ago when I showed you my kitchen cabinet reveal? It’s amazing that something as simple as paint can have such a big effect on the feel and look of your home.
|Paint on the cabinets and a tile and glass backsplash brightened up my kitchen tremendously!
Well, I’m at it again updating my humble abode. Well, not exactly me updating it. Someone else did the work while I snapped pictures and sneaked some chocolate chips in the pantry. I hired the folks at Buy Direct to replace the carpet throughout my entire house. I also hired them to put in a backsplash for me. I am SUPER pleased with the results. I think you’ll like it too!
|One of my favorite things that we did was install the tile all the way around the kitchen window.
It draws the eye up and makes quite a statement.
After shopping at 4 different carpet/tile stores throughout the valley I decided that Buy Direct was the best choice for me. Why? Well, first and foremost my neighbor recommended them wholly. I always feel good about going with a particular brand/business when someone I know and trust has nothing but good stuff to say about it.
|This is our family room in the basement. The carpet was quite matted down here
and it’s not a color I would have chosen. I love the look of it now!
Second, they are locally owned and operated. They have the largest showroom in Utah and their products were featured in the parade of homes throughout Utah. Third, they were by FAR the best deal. I mean by FAR. I couldn’t believe the difference in the price of their carpet versus the exact same carpet (style and brand) at the other places. In fact they give Mill Direct pricing and they guarantee the lowest prices!
Some other things that I was really impressed with:
1. The carpet removal and install was very timely. In fact, we had a whole house of new carpet a week after we ordered it! We have a fairly large home and they installed the entire home in one day. The carpet install crew (the Hammer brothers and sons) were absolutely amazing. They came early, brought their own lunches, worked hard throughout the day and were very friendly and polite. They are very experienced and made sure to put the seams in the right places..they even vacuumed!
|We chose to let them rip out the old carpet. Good choice, Petersen. Good choice.
2. Mark, the owner at Buy Direct, was fantastic to work with. He helped us wade through all the options of carpet. Greg and I were so indecisive as to what kind of carpet we wanted and Mark guided us through the process very patiently (even though we were probably so annoying). We ended up going with a low pile carpet with a pattern as opposed to the longer shag carpet we have had in the past.
|This is the AFTER of the carpet! We chose this really soft, low pile, patterned carpet.
I love having it flow seamlessly from room to room!
We just really wanted the carpet to last and not show wear in the high traffic areas. Even though the carpet is not the plushy thick carpet you dream of it is still sooooo soft. I do not regret my choice in the least. The color is dark enough that it won’t show stains, it doesn’t get matted down and looks good even when I don’t vacuum because, I’m not what you’d call the best housekeeper in the world or even on the block. Just being honest peeps.
|Skyler loves the carpet…
3. The tile install for the backsplash took one day. Jonny was our tile install man and we really needed the tile to get done in one day (this was right before the holidays). I was doubtful that it would happen but it did! He and his partner worked hard and did a precise job…cutting tile and fitting it around cabinets can’t be easy (I don’t care what the DIY tutorials say). The weather was horrible but they kept the wet tile saw warm and things moved along nicely. I love my backsplash. I have never had one before and have always wanted one. I love the glass and ceramic tiles that we chose and I don’t feel like it’s too shiny like some I’ve seen.
So I hope you liked the tour! What is your favorite part?
Remember if you live in Utah and you’re looking for new flooring to keep Buy Direct in mind. I have been very pleased with them!
