“The ground chicken tacos were easy to prepare, but I don’t usually
have ground chicken on hand. It cooked in the exact time the
recipe said it would. I was worried it was going to be a giant chicken meat
loaf, but when I stirred it, it crumbled up just fine. I really liked not
having to brown the meat before putting it in the crock pot. It wasn’t spicy
enough for me. I also would have just used an envelope of taco seasoning
(spicy) in place of all the spices. I would make it again, but only if I had
all of the ingredients on hand.
together and throw into the crock pot. I have never cooked with quick cook
tapioca before, and I am not sure it did what it was supposed to. My taco
filling ended up more like taco soup or gravy. It was VERY soupy. In fact for
the left overs, I made rice to spoon it over. It was more like chicken verde sauce than a filling. My family members who tried to eat
the filling in a soft tortilla ended up with it running down their arms. It was
very tasty though!”

Garlic Chicken and Veggies |
Roberta tried out these two chicken dishes and said that the Garlic Chicken and Veggies “was very simple to prepare, with very common
ingredients. I used a crockpot liner,
closed, to try and keep the chicken moist, but that didn’t go as planned. The
chicken was a bit on the dry side, and I found it quite bland, unless I got a
good bit of garlic with each bite. The
potatoes and carrots were both very tender and flavorful after soaking up the
juices. All in all a good go-to meal
with ingredients you probably have on hand.”

Massaman Curry |
The curry faired a little better. Roberta said, “I found the dish to be very enjoyable, though
I would have preferred carrots included in it, as you would find in the dish at
most Thai restaurants. We used a mild Curry and the dish was enjoyed by all 6
members of our family including our seven and two year old. Sriracha and chili oil work very well to add
spice to base dish if it is not spicy enough.”
Next round the curry will face off against the sour cream chicken tacos! Stay tuned for more “game” results and to see if your bracket matches up at all (I know mine doesn’t!).
