Today’s tip comes from Alison in Austraila! I feel so cool right now that someone from Austrailia is reading my blog. She says,
“When I buy meat for slow cooking I brown it, cool, place in zip lock bags flatten & freeze. I just get the meat out when I start getting my ingredients ready so by the time I have everything in the pot the meat is defrosted, if not microwave for a few seconds. I find I also use less meat and more vegetables adding the meat last. I also sometimes pre-cook onions & celery & freeze in small bags & use the same. If you make them thin & flat they defrost fast.”
Good tip, Alison. Thanks!
