Kitchen Tip Tuesday: How to get stuck on food off your slow cooker

So a while back someone asked on Facebook how to get food that is crusted on off of your slow cooker.  Besides working hard at it and soaking it for a while I didn’t have a good answer.  Someone suggested filling the slow cooker with warm water and then throwing a dryer sheet in it and letting it soak.  I thought that was a weird suggestion….until today.  I had food stuck on my slow cooker and couldn’t get it off.  So I did the dryer sheet trick and it actually seemed to work.  It seemed to loosen up the crustiness.  So there you have it…use a dryer sheet.  Amazing!

Marla, you can definitely put the lid and the stoneware in the dishwasher. I do it everyday! They say to put the lid in the top part of the dishwasher (but I just put it in the bottom).

Well that certainly doesn't seem like it would work… but I will try it after tonight's slow cooker pulled pork recipe. I always seem to get something stuck on.
