Instant Pot Disney Lasagna–a scrumptious, layered pasta dish made with ground beef, spices and sliced mozzarella cheese. A copycat recipe of what you’d find at Tony’s in Disney World.

Instant Pot Disney Lasagna
If you aren’t able to visit the restaurant Tony’s in Disneyworld you can bring a little Tony’s to your own kitchen by making this Instant Pot Disney lasagna. Tony’s is a replica of the spot where Lady and the Tramp ate their famous spaghetti dinner. If you’re not in the mood for spaghetti and meatballs order/make lasagna instead!
I think you’ll love this lasagna recipe! With just a few tweaks, like adding smoked paprika and tabasco sauce, this lasagna goes from good to great!
I love making this lasagna on a day when I am need to make dinner ahead of time. The lasagna can sit untouched in the Instant Pot for a few hours and still taste so good! I started the Instant Pot at 3:30 in the afternoon and we didn’t eat it until 6:30 because of afternoon/evening activities and it was still perfect! Just make sure to cover your pot-in-pot dish with foil so that the lasagna doesn’t have condensation dripping on it constantly.
- If you want to add more of a chunky tomato texture try using a 14.5 ounce can of crushed tomatoes with one 8 ounce can of tomato sauce instead of the 3 cans of tomato sauce.
- I used regular uncooked lasagna noodles. You can also use the no boil/oven ready lasagna noodles. You will need to break them in half to be able to fit in the circular pot-in-pot dish.
- I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*. You can also make this in an 8 quart pot with no changes.
- You will need to cook lasagna in the Instant Pot with the pot-in-pot method so that the pot will come to pressure and the lasagna will cook properly. I used a Fat Daddios 7 inch by 4 inch pan* to cook my lasagna in. Any 7 inch deep dish will work. You can use a 3 quart liner* inside the 6 or 8 quart liner for pot-in-pot as well.
- I like to use my OXO sling* for pot in pot cooking. It makes lowering and retrieving the lasagna pan so easy.

Instant Pot Disney Lasagna
- Prep Time: 20 minutes
- Cook Time: 25 minutes (plus 10 minute NPR)
- Total Time: 45 minutes
- Yield: 6 servings 1x
Description
A scrumptious, layered pasta dish made with ground beef, spices and sliced mozzarella cheese. A copycat recipe of what you’d find at Tony’s in Disney World.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 3 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 6 uncooked lasagna noodles
- 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
Instant Pot Instructions:
- Heat a pan over medium high heat and add in the ground beef. Break it up. Add in the onions. Brown for about 5 minutes. Add in the garlic and saute for 30 seconds. Turn off the heat. Stir in 1 tsp kosher salt, Italian seasoning, oregano, thyme, paprika, tomato sauce and water. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl stir together ricotta, egg, Tabasco and ¼ tsp salt.
- Pour 1 ½ cups water in the bottom of your Instant Pot.
- Use a pot-in-pot dish to layer the lasagna. I used a 7 inch by 4 inch pan*. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in bottom of dish. Layer 2 lasagna noodles, sliced mozzarella, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of meat sauce. Repeat 2 more times. Lay any remaining mozzarella on top and sprinkle parmesan on top. Cover the dish with foil.
- Place the dish on a sling/trivet* and lower into the Instant Pot. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook time to 25 minutes. When time is up you can use a 10 minute natural pressure release or let the pot sit up to a couple hours…the lasagna stays good and warm and ready to eat whenever you are.
- Remove the lid, remove the dish and foil. Scoop up lasagna and serve!

Excellent! We made it and it was wonderful! This time we’re going to replace the hamburger with hot sausage. I get together with my mom on Tuesdays and we really enjoy cooking with the Instant Pot!
★★★★★
Sausage sounds like a great idea!
Made it the other day just to try a different lasagna recipe than our usual favorite. Never been to Tony’s so I can’t compare it to the real thing but we found this to be a bit bland as far as spices and a little on the ‘sweet’ side but that could be because of the canned tomato sauce I used. Would definitely add more Italian seasoning next time and maybe try a different sauce.
Be sue to tuck all the noodles into the sauce, any edges sticking out (I had a few corners that escaped somehow) will be uncooked and hard.
★★★
Thanks for your review!
Was quick and delicious, thank you!

You are welcome! Glad you liked it Gina!
Before diving into this good looking recipe, a question…
At Instant Pot Step 3, 1 1/2 cups of “what” is being poured into the bottom of the Instant Pot? Is it water? The meat and ricotta mixtures are layered in the pot-in-pot at Step 4.
Thanks, Reno Dave
I am assuming it is 1.5 cups Water since it is a pot in pot recipe. That is my question as well!
I was thinking it was water but the recipe only calls for 1/4 cup water?????
Oops yes that is right. It is supposed to say water. I will correct it.
I FIND IT HARD TO FIND ANY OF THE POT IN POT RECIPES COULD YOU PLEASE MAKE SOME POT IN POT RECIPES FOR THE INSTANT POT
I second your question… how can this be made without the pot in pot thing? Thank you in advance!
