So looks like you live in Utah? I’m trying figure out if I need to add time to your instant pot/ pressure cooker recipes, since I’ve read that you need to add 5%cooking time for every 1000ft over 2000ft. I live at 4500-ish ft. So just wondering what altitude you are cooking at? Thanks!

    Hi Karen,

Real Simple is working on some blogger round-ups of recipes we love for easy Christmas morning breakfast and would like to link to one or two of your breakfast casserole ideas. Your site and photo would be credited and a link provided to send our readers to your site for the recipe (we would show the photo of the recipe on our site, but won’t print the recipe on our site — we send them to you for that). Let me know asap if you are okay with this! (Sorry — on crazy deadline!)

    Thanks so much,

    Amy Zavatto

Karen. I just got your Easy 5 Ingredient Slow Cooker book. I’m a busy mom and this will help a lot with meal prep.

Quick question – can I double the recipes? Does it change the cook time? In particular I plan to make the turkey meatballs and mexican beans and rice.

you can totally double the recipes. If you’re using a 6 quart crockpot it shouldn’t change the cooking times too much 🙂

Deeply disappointed in that I tried to order the instant pot that was on sale. My first attempt was to try myself, and when they said they do not ship to Canada, I attempted to have a friend , with a USA address, pruchase it for me, they sent him to a site that said the price was 89.99. No real savings there.
It was only about 5.30pm when I touched base with him, and he got back to me at 7pm with the disappointing news.
Is it because of the time, being pacific time zone, or why was it denied.

thanks for your response, if you are able to get one.

I cannot seem to print your recipes, not in the slow cooker or instant pot form. What am I doing wrong. Just now I tried to print the carnitas and a few days ago I tried to print something else and couldn’t.

Hi Karen, I plan to put a 3 quart bowl in my 6 quart pot & make half the recommended ingredients for a 6 quart turkey chili recipe. Should I also cook the chili for half the recommended time? Please send an eMail to me in answer to this question. Thank you

There’s not really a straight forward answer to this question unfortunately! I have used this chart to help me a lot. http://instantpot.com/cooking-time/

The reply you gave is for a pressure cooker which cooks food quicker than a crock pot. She was asking about a slow cooker not pressure cooker.

Hello. I represent a food company client who has asked me to gather information from mom food bloggers who partner with food companies to promote their product. My clients’ products pair with fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are interested in being considered for a summer promotion, can you send me some information about how you partner with food companies and some pricing info. Thanks and Best, Gail

Your site has been overrun with large ads to the point where I don’t want to come here anymore. And they are all interspersed with the text so you can hardly tell what’s ad and what’s content. And the political ads are the worst. I went to print a recipe and an ad for Trump printed right up with it. Totally unacceptable. (Deleted it – sure don’t need it THAT badly!) Clinton would be just as bad. I understand that ads help pay for free content, but please contain them to a column on the side. You’re losing me and who knows how many more folks who are just sick of these; side, inside, bottom, everywhere!!!

I’m sorry you feel that way Marsha. I will talk with my ad people and see if we can come up with a solution.

Hello! What a wonderful site! Very helpful for a family with the wife & husband both having to work during the day! I love all the recipes I’ve tried so far! However, the recipe for 3 packet roast recipe appears to be taken off. I would like to record the ingredients and steps for making the dry mixes please!

    Sincerely,
    Randy
