Description
Creamy, cheesy pasta and smoked sausage with sauerkraut. An easy Instant Pot recipe for 2 (or 3).

- 1 Tbsp butter
- 6 ounces sliced beef smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into quarter inch rounds
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 4 ounces penne pasta
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 (8 oz) can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
- 1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the butter and let it melt. Add in the smoked sausage and brown for about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.
- Sprinkle in the penne pasta, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper. Dump the sauerkraut and mustard on top.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5-10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.
- Stir in the cheese. Serve and enjoy!
