Game Summary: Tomato Ravioli Soup vs Peach Crisp

The winner of matchup #13 is…

Peach Crisp!

Sideline reporter, Annie, is here to give us her report:

Hi, there! Here are my opinions on the two recipes that I tested.

1. Tomato Ravioli Soup: Lovely, velvety texture, though I did think the final taste was a little on the bland side. I would recommend adding to the ingredient list 2 cloves of minced garlic or 3/4 tsp. of garlic powder as well as 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes. Also, I would opt for fresh basil rather than dry at the end, but I am a fresh herb freak!

2. Peach Crisp: This was the big surprise for me, because I doubted that one could make a “crisp” in the slow cooker. I am happy to say, I was very wrong! Very rich flavor, made extra special by the earthiness of the oatmeal and brown sugar. I used frozen peaches and it was fantastic. My husband who is not a big “sweet” person to begin with actually snuck a second bowlful! I would say that this recipe is a screaming home run. My only possible suggestions for this would be to add a touch of lemon juice to give the flavor of the peaches an extra pop. Also, I thought a bit of minced crystallized ginger might give it another yummy dimension. At any rate, we have a winner…..Peach Crisp!!

Thanks Annie!  Peach crisp is sounding pretty awesome right about now.
