How to make baked potatoes in the slow cooker

Making baked potatoes in the slow cooker is so easy! Just prick the potatoes with a fork, wrap them in foil and place in the slow cooker. You can cook on low for about 6-8 hours or on high for half the time. I love making my potatoes this way, they come out really moist and perfectly “baked.”

Recipe for slow cooker baked potatoes
Potatoes (you can use Russet or yellow or red potatoes, but keep in mind that Russet will take longer than red or yellow)

1. Prick potatoes with fork and wrap in foil.

2. Add to the slow cooker. Cover. Do not add water. Cook on high 3-4 hours, or low 6-8 hours.
What should I serve with baked potatoes?
I usually make baked potatoes as a side dish but you can also make them the main dish. A baked potato bar is super fun. Chili, cheese, chives, sour cream, olives, diced tomatoes, and salsa are all yummy ideas that you could have at your baked potato bar.
Sometimes I serve meatloaf with my baked potatoes . Or maybe even this 3 envelope roast. There are so many options!

I either had crock pot problems or something. Cooked potatoes on low for 8 hours or more and they weren’t cooked all the way. I’ll have to try it again.

I’ve always done our baked potatoes in the crock pot. It’s so easy, and then I have my oven available for broiling meat, or baking a casserole if I need it.
