1/2 lb lean hamburger meat, browned and drained
8 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 packet taco seasoning
1 cup refried beans
2 cups cheddar cheese
4 10 inch tortillas, cut up into 1 inch squares (I used whole wheat, but you could also use several corn tortillas, if you prefer)
Mix meat, tomato sauce, taco seasoning in medium bowl. Spread refried beans on bottom of 3 quart slow cooker. Layer meat sauce, cheese and tortillas 2 or 3 times. Cook on low for 4 hours.
Review:
I’m loving all the recipes that many of you have been sending in! Keep ’em coming…I still have plenty of days to go. This recipe was sent in my reader, Michelle M. I kind of changed the recipe to fit my taste. It was great! Except that I felt like the taco seasoning was too overpowering. I would change it to 1/4 the packet next time. My 4-year-old thought this was great. Bonus! Easy, family friendly meal. 4 stars.

I made this but the corn tortillas disappeared into the dish. How do you make it so there are seperate layers and the tortillas are still there?
This was a little bland for my taste, but I'd like to try it again with sliced jalepenos and olives in it, and with sour cream and salsa on top, so it'd be like soggy nachos.
I love the recipes you post they are awesome . I am going to so cook these one day . You know when I get the time . whenever that is .
