Day 213: Cream Cheese Brownies

1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 tbsp cocoa
sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I left these out)
vanilla extract
4 oz cream cheese, softened

Melt butter. Beat in 1 cup of sugar and 1 egg until well blended. Stir in flour, salt, cocoa, nuts and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Pour into greased 3 quart crockpot. With a mixer at low speed, beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract until just mixed, at medium speed, beat 2 minutes. Drop dollops on top of batter. Using the tip of a knife, lightly score the top surface to mix the cream cheese mixture in slightly. Cover and cook on High for 2 hours.

Review:
I adapted this from a traditional recipe and was really hoping that it would turn out, as I was in dire need of chocolate. It turned out awesome and I just love the moistness of the brownies. No frosting is needed with the cream cheese dollops. I will be making these again soon, maybe tomorrow. If you want to make these in the oven, place in a square baking dish and bake 40 minutes at 350. 4 1/2 stars.

I tried this last night in the crockpot but it didn't turn out. After four hours on high, I transferred it into a baking dish and put it in the oven instead. The cream cheese mixture seemed to cook OK in the crockpot but the brownies didn't cook at all. Not sure what happened!

I was in need of some chocolate last night, so I tried this recipe (only cooking it in the oven, instead of the crockpot).

The only thing, is the cream cheese mixture suppose to be so runny?

    Thanks again. It tasted great!
