Description

An easy broccoli cream cheese casserole with buttery panko breadcrumbs. It can be made in the Instant Pot or oven. Comfort food to the max!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 ounces (1 1/4 pounds) fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter

Instructions

Instant Pot with Air Fryer Lid Instructions:

  1. Add 1 ½ cups of water into Instant Pot and turn it to saute while you prepare the broccoli.
  2. Add broccoli florets into steamer basket and place the cream cheese on top of the broccoli (this will soften the cream cheese while the broccoli cooks). Place the basket into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  3. Turn off saute setting. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 1 minute on low pressure. When time is up move valve to venting and remove the lid.
  4. Carefully remove steamer basket. Discard the water and dry out the pot. Scoop the cream cheese into the Instant Pot. Stir in the milk, nutmeg, lemon juice, kosher salt and a few cracks of fresh ground pepper. Stir well.
  5. Fold in the broccoli so that it is coated in the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the panko on top and drizzle the butter on top of the panko.
  7. Cover Instant Pot with air fryer lid and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until topping has browned.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Stove/Oven Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×9 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Steam the broccoli until tender.
  3. Soften the cream cheese. In a bowl whisk it together with the milk, nutmeg, lemon juice, kosher salt and a few cracks of fresh ground pepper.
  4. Fold in the broccoli so that it is coated in the sauce. Spread the mixture in the 9×9 inch pan.
  5. Sprinkle the panko on top and drizzle the butter on top of the panko.
  6. Bake until golden brown about 25 minutes.
