Description

An easy crockpot dinner made with ground beef, cavatappi pasta, spaghetti sauce and a creamy layer of cream cheese, sour cream and ricotta.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 16 oz lean ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp dry ranch dressing mix
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 24 oz spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz cavatappi pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the beef and break it up. Brown for 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease. Stir in the ranch dressing mix. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl whisk together softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta, garlic powder and parsley.
  3. Layer ingredients in the bottom of your slow cooker as follows: Half of spaghetti sauce, Half of pasta, ½ cup water, Half of ground beef, All of the cream cheese mixture (drop in dollops evenly over the top), Half of pasta, Half of spaghetti sauce, ½ cup water, Half of ground beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low. Check at 2 hours if the pasta is done. Each slow cooker cooks differently so you may need more time and you may need less. Pasta will become too soft and mushy if cooked too long, so keep an eye on it.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella on top and cover the pot for 5 more minutes to let it melt.
  6. Serve and enjoy.
