Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves/jam/spread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 8 Cobblestone Bread Co. buns or rolls

Instructions

  1. Add the chicken to the slow cooker.
  2. Dump in the chili sauce, apricot and cream cheese cubes into the slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 2-4 hours, or until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Remove chicken and place on a cutting board. Shred and return to the slow cooker.
  5. Stir until chicken is incorporated into the sauce.
  6. Serve chicken on top of toasted buns/rolls. Add cheese and caramelized onions to sandwiches, if desired.

Notes

Ideal slow cooker size: 4-5 quart
