I’ve been holding some information close to my chest since I found out 2 weeks ago. And I’ve been about to burst because of it!
In November, I heard about a contest called Reynolds Real Moms (you know like Reynolds wrap and slow cooker liners and oven bags) It was all about how I use their products and make my life easier. Which I do. It was easy for me to enter because I use the slow cooker liners a lot. And I also use their foil and parchment paper in my cooking and baking.
Anyhow, I kind of forgot about it and the holidays came and went. Then there was January. The worst month of all. The month that is so so so cold (highs of 10 degrees, people). The month where you have to put away all the yummy junk food. The month where the magic of Christmas is gone and all you’re left with is a messy house, fat around your belly and dreary days. Long dreary days. Days where your kids have literally watched 4 hours of TV straight because I can’t stand to play another game of Candy Land and we can’t go outside and ride bikes because there is snow a foot high! Oh man, January is easily the worst month for me.
Then something exciting happened. Something that would prove to change January 2013 for good. Something to get my hopes up, to get me excited, and to get me through another game of Candy Land. I found out I was one of ten finalists in the Reynolds Real Moms contest!!!!!
Insert victory dance around the kitchen island while my kids looks at me strangely.

That means I’ll be working with Reynolds a bit. I get to fly to Chicago tomorrow to do a photo shoot and to film some promotional content (wha?!? Please tell me there will be someone there to do my makeup and make me look beautiful) and meet the other finalists! How fun is that?
It’s what every single mom dreams of (no matter how nice she is): to stay in a hotel room all by herself. To have the remote, the peace, the bath tub and some chocolate at her disposal. Don’t tell me you haven’t dreamed of this because I know you have.
I also win a year’s supply of Reynolds products and get to give one of my blog readers a 6 month’s supply!! Who couldn’t use that?! (so stay tuned for that contest…it will be coming up shortly). I will get to compete to get further in the Reynold’s Real Moms contest and you’ll be involved with that so please, please continue to read this blog, follow me on facebook and twitter, and tell your friends about it!
Anyhow, I would totally appreciate any good vibes, prayers, karma sent my way! I’m going to need it.
Congratulations! I know they will love you!
Congrats! I love using those liners!
That is too cool!
Congratulations! They couldn't have picked a better mom to represent them. You did great at the Big Cooking Show and I know you'll do great in the contest.
thanks so much Barbara! you are so nice to say that 🙂
Yay!! Congratulations!! Good luck and so excited for you!!
WOOHOO!!!!!! I would totally expect only MORE positive things happening from this point on, you rock! Will keep you in my prayers, have fun and enjoy every moment 🙂 Stacy N.
Congratulations and good luck!!
Please don't EVER serve anything out of one of those bags / liners – it screams science project and it looks awful. Just scrub the crock pot, please!
Congrats! How exciting for you. Keep us posted on your photo shoot and your grand hotel stay.
Good luck to you!!!!
Congratulations!
Congrats! Sounds like fun!
