Description

A casserole version of the Kentucky hot brown sandwich. With turkey, toast, cheese sauce, bacon and tomatoes you can’t go wrong.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 8 ounces of turkey, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 ounces swiss cheese
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup bacon crumbles
  • 2 Tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 small roma tomato, diced
  • 1/8 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375° F. Toast the bread and cut into cubes. Place the cubes evenly into the bottom of a 8×8 inch pan. Top the toast with the turkey.
  2. In a large pan over medium low heat melt the butter. Slowly whisk in the flour and whisk until it is golden in color. Whisk in the milk, cream, ½ cup parmesan and swiss until the cheese is melted and sauce has thickened. Stir in the salt and pepper. Spread the mixture over the turkey and bread.
  3. Sprinkle the bacon, 2 Tbsp of parmesan, tomatoes and paprika on top.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
