Description

An easy one-pot Instant Pot dinner made with seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, creamy gravy and melted cheddar cheese for the ultimate comfort food meal.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Better than Bouillon beef base
  • 24 oz Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Turn Instant Pot to sauté setting. When display says HOT add in ground beef and break it up. Add in the onion. Brown for 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease. Stir in the garlic powder, pepper and 1 tsp of the seasoned salt.
  2. Pour in the water and Worcestershire sauce and scrape the bottom of the pot. Stir in the beef base. Turn off Instant Pot. 
  3. Scatter the potatoes into the pot so they aren’t stacked directly on top of each other. Sprinkle the potatoes with the remaining ½ tsp of seasoned salt.
  4. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set manual/pressure cook button to 1 minute. When time is up let pot sit for 5 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid. 
  5. Turn Instant Pot to sauté setting. Gently stir in the milk. Stir cornstarch together with a tablespoon of water to make a cornstarch slurry. Stir the slurry into the pot to thicken the gravy. Turn off Instant Pot. 
  6. Gently stir in the cheese until melted. 
  7. Serve and enjoy!
