Description
Tender beef in a rich, sweet-and-savory garlic soy sauce in just 30 minutes—perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 14 oz beef shaved steak
- 1 Tbsp minced ginger
- 4 Tbsp minced garlic
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- Heat a large pan over medium high heat. Add in the oil and swirl around. Add in the shaved steak and brown.
- While the meat is browning stir together the ginger, garlic, red pepper, soy sauce, water and brown sugar.
- Stir the soy sauce mixture into the pan and turn heat to medium. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- If you want a thicker sauce then make a cornstarch slurry by stirring together cornstarch with equal parts water until smooth. Stir the mixture into the pan and let the sauce thicken.
- Turn off the heat. Serve meat and sauce over hot cooked rice.
Notes
