Whisk together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Stir in salt, baking soda, cream of tartar and flour. Spray a pan. Press dough into bottom and sides.

Slice the apples. Toss them with sugar, flour and apple pie spice. Add into the pan. Place a paper towel over top and secure it with foil.

Pour water into the Instant Pot. Place the pan on a trivet and lower in. Cover and seal. Pressure cook for 22 minutes. Vent and remove the lid.

Remove pan. In a bowl add flour, brown and white sugar, salt, vanilla, and butter. Mix until crumbly. Drizzle caramel on the apples. Sprinkle crumble on top.

If you have an air fryer lid dry out the pot. Then lower the apple pan in. Cover and set to BAKE at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Let cool and serve like a pie or dig in with a spoon and serve like apple crisp. Vanilla ice cream is a must!
