Slow Cooker Perfect Turkey Breast Recipe...don't be scared to make turkey. It's so easy!

Makes 6 servings

1 (3 lb) boneless turkey breast (mostly thawed)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chicken bouillon granules
1 Tbsp soy sauce

1.  Cut off the netting or strings around the turkey, if it has them.  Place turkey in bottom of 3 quart slow cooker.
2.  Rub the turkey on all sides with onion powder, garlic powder and bouillon.
3.  Pour the soy sauce on top of turkey.
4.  Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
5.  Use drippings to make gravy, if desired and serve.

Review:
This turkey was absolutely perfect.  Tender, moist and flavorful.  I was so excited and pleased with how it turned out.  Greg said that it was a 5 star recipe for sure.  He said that it was just as good as his brother’s fried turkey that we had on Christmas.  Take that, Jeff!

I use the 7 lb turkey breast in my crock pot. Will never bake in oven anymore. I usually stuff cavity with celery. I pull the skin back and put savory herb dry soup mix or onion soup mixes mixed with small amount of oil to make a paste, spread on breast then pull skin back up to cover. Cook high 1 hour and low for 5 hours. Delish

I buy boneless turkey breast that is wrapped in netting. I’ve made them in the slow cooker before, especially in the summer. Wouldn’t the breast fall apart if the netting was removed before cooking? Marilyn

It will stay together better if you leave the netting on. You really can do either.

No liquid whatsoever? Just one tbs of soy sauce? Will the crockpot not just dry it all out???

Hi! I’m new to the site and came across the turkey breast crock pot dinner. I see a couple of people mentioned using a whole turkey, but didn’t see replies. Had anyone tried the whole turkey slow cooker experience? Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks!

They had never heard of turkeys on the Mayflower. Once they landed they found small wild turkeys. No steroid fed gobblers of today. Totally made up recipe.

This website normally comes up with ridiculous titles for the recipes, eg, Grandma Made this every Sunday[never heard of it]. There were no turkeys on the Mayflower. They lived on hardtack and salted meats. They eventually found small wild turkeys once landed. They were not slices of white turkey from a chemically oversized turkey. There was no garlic, onion powder, bouillon, or soy sauce. Silly title for a made up recipe.

On a whim one time I bought a smoked turkey leg but, when I open the vacuum package it was pretty tough so I dropped it in my trusty Ol' crockpot and covered it with some instant chicken broth for about 4 hours on high. This let off the aroma of ham and when I sampled it it had a remarkable flavor, so I added some diced onion, minced garlic, shredded carrots and split peas and come up with a dynamite mock "Split pea and Ham". Being the tightwad that I am I tried a smoked turkey breast one time(no bones to buy) but it didn't impart the flavor like legs or wings do, it must the dark meat. I let this simmer for a couple more hours until the split peas and carrots we're tender, you could use Great Northern beans also. Just a little tip if you are trying to keep Kosher. Bon Appetite! L.D.

I've roasted whole chickens in my 5 quart crockpot, 5lbs average, that's about the largest bird you can get in there. Would like to try a turkey but you can't find one under 12 lbs. On high it takes only about 4 hours to reach well over 165*, I let mine go to 180*, plus I place two small ashtrays upside down in the bottom of the crockpot to keep the bird out of the schmaltz. You can freeze the schmaltz in ice cube trays to add to soups and make gravy and stuffing. Bon Appetite! L.D. Adios n' Hasta La Bye Bye!

    Hi Penny,
You could definitely do a whole turkey in the slow cooker, if you can get it to fit ๐Ÿ™‚
I guess if you have a small enough turkey it will work.
Or like you said, just do the breast along with the legs. Should work fine.

    Hi Britney,
If the turkey takes up most of the space in the slow cooker it should take the same amount of time. But if the crockpot is so big and it's a smaller turkey breast it will take less time. Give yourself a good 6 hours (especially if it's not totally thawed). Check it at 4 hours with a thermometer and if it's done then switch to warm until you are ready to eat. If you want to make sure to keep it really moist you may want to add a can of chicken broth in the bottom of the crock. Good luck. Please report back and let me know how it turns out! ๐Ÿ™‚
