You only have 5 things to get at the grocery store. Milk, salad dressing, spinach, cereal and toothpaste. You repeat these five items to yourself and head into the grocery store. But somehow when you come out of the store 30 minutes later with 14 items you have forgotten the toothpaste. Doh. Not wanting to go back in the store you use some leftover travel toothpaste that you find in your luggage for the next week until you can make it back to the store.
If you’re anything like me, I’m sure this circumstance or a similar one has happened to you in the past multiple times. I am constantly wondering, “aren’t I too young to be this forgetful?” Today on the podcast we learn an amazing memory trick that you can put to work in your life immediately.
I just got back from the store and this was my list: ice cube trays, paper towels, contact solution, probiotics, hair spray, toothpicks, Halloween candy, toothpaste, floss, spinach and cottage cheese. And guess what ?! I didn’t even write the list down. And I remembered every single thing! It’s a miracle.
On Episode 26 of The 365 Days Podcast, Heidi and I have a special guest on the show that teaches us a memory trick to help you remember lists of items. I hope you’ll listen to the episode and try it out! If nothing else it’s a brain exercise to keep your mind active.
This week’s challenge
Each week on the 365 Days Podcast we issue a challenge. This week the challenge is to use the memory trick we talked about in the podcast and go to the store without a list.
